We are delighted to announce that Simon Atkins has joined the Developer Eyes team as a Project Coordinator.

Simon joins us from Corby Borough Council and brings with him a wealth of Local and County Council planning, adoption and landscaping knowledge and experience, which will be a valuable asset to our company.

Simon has been working within the Landscaping and Civil Engineering Sector for the past 14 years, dealing mainly with Councils, Developers and Management of Private Estates. His career within this industry has seen him progress from his studies at Moulton College; to initially take on the roles of a Landscaper and Arborist. This allowed Simon to gain hands on experience of Landscaping, Tree Surgery and Forestry and led Simon to take on the role of a Grounds Supervisor for Kier Group, prior to achieving his role within Corby Borough Council.

Developer Eyes works with many Councils and to have someone with Simon’s practical understanding and exposure provides us with valuable insight into how best to liaise with and progress complex Council negotiations, to help mitigate problems when dealing with street scene management, landscaping, forestry and adoption issues. Simon is a skilled and proficient manager, contractor, planner, arborist and landscaper. His practical experience of dealing with all levels of seniority at Council and Developer levels; increases our ability to empathise with decisions and situations from both sides, which in turn enhances our ability to achieve mutually beneficial solutions, to ensure projects are progressed in an efficient and timely manner.

We have worked with Simon on a number of projects and have been impressed with his technical knowledge, understanding and responsiveness. Simon has managed 27 operatives as part of the Corby Borough Council contract with Kier Landscaping - undertaking works that included shrub and boarder maintenance, open space management, verge maintenance, football pitch and parkland maintenance and upkeep. Simon also managed all tree stock and maintenance programmes, including tree surveys, mapping and plotting of assets, severe weather call outs and emergency works. In addition to those duties detailed above, Simon has also planned and managed minor civils works, as part of the Kier Landscaping Contract, which included materials procurement, programming of works, sub-contractor engagement and project management.

Out of Simon’s many attributes, communication is one of the most important to Developer Eyes. We have learnt that in order to be the best, we have to place ourselves right at the forefront of any project. We will never shy away from making tough decisions and will always take a proactive approach to all situations.

Simon has always demonstrated that he is a consummate professional, he is approachable, leads by example and is always a pleasure to deal with, which is why we are so pleased he has decided to join the Developer Eyes team.
